‘Consulation’

We were tasked to create a series of explainer videos exploring employers’ need to consult about matters relating to health and safety. Read on to find out how we made the abstract tangible and kept the audience’s attention in this longer format video.
How do you visualize an intangible notion like 'consultation'? Instead of showing an employer talking to staff, we used visual metaphors—one of animation's strengths. These simplified complex ideas, making them easier to understand, especially for non-native English speakers.
WorkSafe usually prioritises clarity over creativity in safety messaging, but for this explainer, we wanted the visuals to enhance the messaging and help engage the viewer. Using the brand’s signature yellow and grey, stylised illustrations and character design made complex ideas easier to convey and enhanced the video's effectiveness and appeal.
